As Kele Mogotsi said it best in her article in The Startup:

No One Wants 40 Hour Work Weeks Anymore. Everyone Wants to Work 4 Hours Per Week on a Laptop In Bali…

But my problem was way different than working too many hours and driving crazy in an interminable bis in die commute. So the solution was not something as obvious as making a wish and doing all it needs so that it became real.

I was already not working 40 hours at that moment… not even 1 hour for that matter. I was at least lucky enough not to live in a suburb made for cars only… I was able to go get my food without the need to drive…

Also working 4 hours per day (not per week)… was a more realistic goal for me… The 4 hours per day is the wish that was not so obvious to make it become true.

Oh… but how are you paying for your rent, I hear you ask, and your insurance and for your food that you don’t need a car to go get…

Well, I was just lucky, it was during the COVID-19 Pandemic 😷 and I was fortunate enough to be in a so-called « First World Country » and receiving extensive compensation for complying with stay-at-home order

« But that dream was about to abruptly end » ― Two paragraphs bellow…

The freedom was so amazing it felt like it was just some kind of drug, the kind that you get injected into your bank account instead of in your arm…

But that dream was about to abruptly end; specifically because of something everyone was getting injected into their arms… The COVID vaccine meant the end of this terrible pandemic, and the end of the pandemic was about to… you guessed it… abruptly cause the end of that free money area…

With 100 days left it was obvious that my dream (of adding value to the world) was the only way to make my wish (of working on my projects for about 4 hours per day) become real… But HOW…

Well, it’s why you are still reading because you are intrigued, because maybe 🤔 if you are like me, you want to know how, or if, it could be applicable to you… Well, I was exactly like you the reader, in the very moment of writing those really words

[SIDE BAR: It was like exactly now (as I was typing this text) just like you I was eager to find out what was the solution and I knew that I would only have to continue reading to get the answer but… to be able to read it meant that I would have to continue writing well it’s exactly what I was about to do – END ASIDE]

The #100DaysOf<Something> excuse…

The solution for me would have to be something about building a new me, catching a new wave, pushing the limits of my comfort zone, and using the 100-days excuse to make me believe that something different from normal was happening… Setting up a 100 days challenge is easier said than done, but at least the « doing the effort part » is easy…

Easy? Why you might want to know, well because you only need to give your 1% each day… But then the hardest part you will ask… it’s 1) knowing what that 1% will have to be for each of the following one hundred days and 2) keeping up adding that 1% until everything is done, until the 100 days challenge is completed…

For me, it was to run each day (starting with a daily walk and increasing it by intervals up to a daily run)…

It was also working on my development skills (read here computer programming development) and writing about it to add more value to the world.

And lastly writing on Medium.com was a long-time goal that I never was able to achieve, because it was a forever I will do it tomorrow issue…

Well, it’s is still the problem (at least for today) because… I will be writing on Medium.com starting tomorrow so you can get something valuable from me already I guess you will like to consider following me right now because today I don’t feel like writing anymore and I am just already super curious about what topic I will write about for my first day as a Medium.com writer well I guess it’s just a matter of coming back tomorrow and I will have added a link for that first article just here!

Walking 10km in my city as my morning run

I am happy that I at least did my daily run for today (walking 10km)… and I can’t wait to tell you more in my first Medium.com article tomorrow…

Please tell me in the comments what is your wish you want to make be true and with what dream you will make it happen… Because commitment must be right now, don’t be like me that is waiting for tomorrow to write my first Medium.com [Article | Blog | Opinion | Tutorial].
